Held at Lannon Village Hall

Present: 14 members

First Vice President, Lion Spranger called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Secretary’s Report: Lion Spagl offered a motion to accept, and a second was made by Lion O’Connor. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: Lion J. Reimer will look into who has not yet paid fees for the District golf outing. Lion Ernst moved to accept the report as presented, with a second offered by Lion O’Connor. Motion carried.

Lion News: Lion Spranger read a thank-you letter from Mona Gissal and family. The Club gifted flowers and food, for the recent passing of Keith Gissal.

Committee Reports:

Park Committee: There is no truth to the rumor our new building must come down. Progress has slowed a bit, but with Lion O’Connor’s help, the plumbing to the building is complete. The well and sewer work remains.
Pancake Breakfast: Lion Spranger handed out the financial report from this event. The bottom line profit is $880.73. Advanced ticket sales totaled $347.25 this year compared to $557.50 in 2005. We received $56 in tips/donations. Lion Spagl and Ernst will collect from 8 advertisers who have not yet paid for their placemat ads. The profit for the ads is expected to be about $1200.
Beef Tent: Lion Ernst reported that sales were down by about 1,000 sandwiches over Lion’s Daze weekend. Leftover canned soda, beef and turkey have been sold to club members. Both the meat vendor and the Health Dept. confirmed that there is no health issue with meat that has expired. No one has heard feedback on the successes of the Knight’s of Columbus and Movie House Grill- our neighbors at Lion’s Daze. We needed the Lannon Flame Tamers for shift coverage again this year.

Old Business:
Financial Audit:
The audit of the Club’s financials has not yet been scheduled.
Lannon Rock Run: A few club members attended and assisted with parking. Food and beer was served by the staff of the former “Lannon House”.

New Business:

The Olympics outing has been rescheduled for Sept. 18th at the park.

Lion Jim Reimer has 900, new diabetic syringes available and asked if the Lion’s Diabetes effort could use them. He was refered to the Lion’s guide book.

At 7:28 p.m. Lion Ernst motioned to adjourn the meeting followed by a second from Lion Boedeker. Motion carried.

Respectfully submitted,
Lion Sandy Burkhalter
Secretary, Lannon Lions Club
